Maracanã is the biggest Public stadium in the world... I really don't know why I know this (maybe 'cause I'm a soccer freak, or something ;-P), but I do, so.... There you go! :-)
As for the Oscars... Well, I really hope Helen Mirren wins. I saw The Queen last year and went to see it again this week. I was hoping that The Queen would win best picture too, but I know it won't. As for best actor, Leo is not going to win, this one has Forest Withaker written all over it, and for a very good reason. The guy was simply AMAZING in The Last King of Scotland.

So, I wasn't sure it still was. But, what do you mean by "public stadium"? Forgive my ignorance, but... are there "private stadiums"? I thought they were all owned by the government.

God, I loved Forest Withaker in The Last King of Scotland, and even more because I had just been to Tanzania -- really close to Uganda -- and his accent was perfect, and so was his Swahili (the few times he spoke the language). God, fantastic. I hope he wins.

Yes there are many private stadiums around the world, and some of them bigger than Maracanã! :-)

I hope Forest wins too, he deserve it.

It is good to hear you had fun on your vacations. That's why they are vacations. But I can understand it must be somewhat weird too, to go back.

We had lots of footage of carnival in Rio. lol, so yeah, I know what it is. We sorta have it in the south of country, which was originally catholic, but not in the way you guys have. Though I've never been there, up here in the north we don't celebrate it.

A lot of the movies that are nominated for Oscars get out here really late too. That sucks. I don't think I watched any of the movies that are nominated, simply because I didn't go to theatre in a while and I don't really like to download movies because of the quality and yes. But I can watch the Oscars for the first time ever, which I want to do, but that means I'll have to watch it at 2 am and not sleeping much and I don't know how much it is worth it if I don't even know the movies. But yeah, I hope you have fun at the party :D

Oh, I didn't know it showed up on the Netherlands! That's amazing. I hear there's Carnival in Venice, or something, but it's more like a mask ball or something (like the original Catholic celebrations). It's really hot around here during Carnival, so, really, we can't wear those nice costumes we see in movies that picture the tarditional Carnival.

Oh, wow! The Oscars are pretty late around there. Here it starts around 10pm, so it's easy to stay awake during the whole thing, even though classes usually start the day after (and I'm grateful I only have classes on Tuesday).

Do watch it this year! I think Ellen DeGeneres is going to be downright brilliant.

I think I will watch it. Though I'm also not that happy with the thought of staying up till early in the morning when I have to get up again. lol. Plus, I have to stay at my mom's. But I really want to say that for once I got to do it. So I'm still torn ;)

You HAVE to watch HEROES! XD

You know what? I actually started seeing it, but I didn't really get into it, like most people did. I guess I just need to see more of it, or something. I think that everyone spoke so much about it that I had high expectations, and they weren't fulfilled. I will give it another chance, though!

But I think that Rio ir most like California than Los Angeles... The comparison on the sunscreen video "Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft" fits exactly if we change then with São Paulo and Rio /o/

And... I didn't see any movie that was nominated to the oscar... .___.

*laughs* When the phone started ringing I was like: "WTF, what do I do now?" But, what could I do? I had to answer it.

Well, I know that, it's just... San Francisco just reminds me so much more of São Paulo than Rio. I guess Rio is more like, LA without the whole "Hollywood" thing.

Não sei. Ele é ótimo e vou ficar feliz se ganhar, mas eu gosto MUITO do DiCaprio e adoro quando vêem que ele não é só o Jack (do Titanic). o/

Na verdade, só não queria que o Ryan Gosling ganhasse (porque eu não vi o filme *alpen* xD) nem o Will Smith (filme fofo e atuação surpreendente, mas não merece =P).
