What the frikkin' fak?

So, by some stupid lack of communication between the producer and the singer, Peaches' show was canceled, and I (obviously) didn't get to go, least of all record a happy video. I was pissed off, but decided not to let it get to me. I went to São Paulo anyway, had a great time with my friends, and am now back thoroughly pleased at the outcome of the weekend.

On a happier (not) note, tonight is the season finale of The L Word, and I'm just dying to see it. I hope the torrent comes out really soon.

I must say, I thought this fourth season was fantastic -- I laughed a lot, loved the new characters and kept on falling in love with the old ones. I think it was a great improvement from season three (in the way that it compensated for the sadness back then), and I have great expectations for this last episode.

It was also the first season I've watched "with" the fandom, except that what I see on Monday is what mostly everyone already saw a day before -- and not, like last year, with an almost three-year delay. It was great to get to know the opinion of different people, and to find out that, as Sarah Warn puts it, everyone loves The L Word -- even if some people love to hate it. It was amazing to see the criticism, the praises, the mocking, the jokes and all the general squeeing that is characteristic of every fandom. Alice was right: lesbians do love to eat their own.

It was going after this sort of information that I bumped into three amazing podcasts, that have made my experience watching the fourth season even more amusing (and here I beg whoever watches the show to at least download one episode of each -- you won't regret it):

- Talking to Manatees: Scribe Grrrl (writer of the amusing L Word recaps on After Ellen) and her girlfriend talk about the show. It's a good podcast, and a short and simple one.

- Straight Up: I've just found this one out on the web. The idea is great: a straight couple (Katie and Andy), from the midwest, who are absolutely addicted to the show, share their thoughts on the series. It's amazing to see things from such a different perspective, and also to find out, in the end, you do have various things in common with the "weird straight people". Downloaded the whole thing today, listened to it and totally fell in love.

- The Planet Cast: In my opinion, the best of the three. KC and Elka are girlfriends, and have been together for nine years or so. They are roommates, they live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and they started the podcast because there were no other lesbians around to discuss the show with. It's unbelievably funny, and those two have great chemistry together. It's rather long (around one hour each episode), but I've totally gotten used to it. Sometimes I even think it was too short.

Now I'll go and try to get some sleep.

...I doubt I'll be able to go to class tomorrow without seeing the episode. It's all rather sad, really.

Porém, a genialidade dessa temporada supera qualquer coisa.

Você foi super modesta quando disse que esse comentário tinha sido "espirituoso". Foi MUITO espirituoso. xD
