"Not all those who wonder are lost"

I could say it was a completely useless day.

After all, I didn't fulfill any of my usual obligations whatsoever. *sighs* God only knows how much I hate missing classes. Especially History of Art, Math (I miss Log), Chemistry, and Project (which now is Financial Math). It's a funny thing, school regulations: you get five minutes late to school and miss almost six whole hours of studies. The bastards that don't give a fuck about learning and knowledge (a.k.a. some boys and girls from my class) are more than satisfied with being sent home when they're late for the forth time in a month. But I just... hate that.

At least I was able to advance a few extra pages on the book I'm reading for Literature (A Cidade e as Serras, Eça de Queirós); take a good look at Livraria da Cultura's giant section of books in English (I hate the lack of money I have got myself into this month); pre-order Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (which will be released at the 15th of July at 20h); stop by the Post Office to send Joey's letter (I've been meaning to do that for ages); withdraw the last 10 bucks I had on my bank account (have I already mentioned I hate Bienal?); make the last arrangements for my trip to Rio this weekend and find out the name of a good second-hand store with my mum in order to get clothes for Julia's party (only outfits 50's-like are allowed); stress myself with TIM once again only to find out I'll not be able to solve the sin card problem soon, which means I'll have to use my mum's cell phone again while in Rio (someday I'll kill whoever is responsible for that bloody mobile company).

Kill came over today, and brought with her a gorgeous box of Nestlé chocolate which she'd won on a Math contest at school. My girlfriend is such a genius. *grins* I don't really have to say we ate all of it, right? With the exception of those horrible coconut ones. [livejournal.com profile] wendybarrie_ also came here, all the way from Guarulhos, just to see me. Gosh. Two weeks since I didn't see my uke. Missed her so damn much. The two of them, actually. Even though I'd seen Kill two days ago. xD

Now I'm just putting my computer in order. Can't believe I've managed to organize all the files. It was a complete mess, like never before (people who have been here know how methodical I am with folder categories). As [livejournal.com profile] magnun says: "people who have neat computers usually have messy rooms". Which is why I will get up right away to clean it up. Or at least when I gather enough strenght to do so.

Para aqueles que me pediram pra postar em português )

You like bowling, don't you, Montag?

If you don't want a man unhappy politically, don't give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. If the government is inefficient, topheavy, and tax-mad, better it be all those than that people worry over it. Peace, Montag. Give the people contests they win by remembering the words to more popular songs or the names of state capitals or how much corn Iowa grew last year. Cram them full of noncombustible data, chock them so damned full of 'facts' they feel stuffed, but absolutely 'brilliant' with information. Then they'll feel like they're thinking, they'll get a sense of motion without moving. And they'll be happy, because facts of that sort don't change. Don't give them any slippery stuff like philosophy or sociology to tie things up with. That way lies melancholy.
