A chapter a day keeps Umbridge away.

I've read the idea in [livejournal.com profile] x_disorder_x's journal, and found it downright brilliant:

160 days for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to come out. 162 chapters written so far by J.K. Rowling.

So, if one reads the first three chapters of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone today, one only has to read one chapter per day to finish the series so far and delve into the seventh and last book absolutaly updated.

Loved the idea, and will totally do it. Thanks, Meea.

Post scriptum: Today is one of my best friend's birthday (yes, again! *grins*), [livejournal.com profile] deadcinderella! Happy Birthday, my dear sister, my dear Beth. Jo will always be here for you. *sings* "Just call my name, I'll be there in a hurry, you don't have to worry!" I love you.

And Bjorn Stronginthearm is your uncle.

After a week inside this apartment, I finally went to the doctor and, apparently, all is well. It's quite funny, but I actually feel weird no longer having my tonsils (not that I'll miss them in the least).

Very profitable week, culturally speaking. Watched less movies than I thought I would, but definitely read more than I ever did in a week (when it came to number of books per day).

Thank you everyone that payed a visit ([livejournal.com profile] magnun, [livejournal.com profile] deadcinderella, [livejournal.com profile] wendybarrie_, [livejournal.com profile] _isarma_, [livejournal.com profile] porn_kid, and [livejournal.com profile] christycorr [livejournal.com profile] lian_moony), all of those that meant to, but couldn't for some reason ([livejournal.com profile] dehds and [livejournal.com profile] x_disorder_x, especially), and all the others that wished me luck and the like.

On side note, I've found this at [livejournal.com profile] macintosh. All the credits to [livejournal.com profile] gmajor.

See you people in Rio.

Bienal

Well, everyone is talking about it, so I figured I should just say a little bit about My Favourite Book Fair of All Time.

Bienal has always meant a lot to me. Ever since I was a kid my mother took me there, every two years. After I moved to São Paulo I started going every year, one there and one here, in Rio. There was never a Bienal that wasn't special to me in some way.

Over the past four years, they all brought excellent surprises. In 2003, I came out of the closet for the first time in my life. My confident was my best friend and future girlfriend, [livejournal.com profile] deadcinderella.

In 2004 I got closer to my freshly acquired friends in São Paulo, especially to [livejournal.com profile] hermikiller who would also turn out to be a future girlfriend.

2005 was a Rio year, and I went with my mother, my sister, [livejournal.com profile] deadcinderella and [livejournal.com profile] christycorr. One of the first times I went out with Chris, and the first weekend we saw each other every day. I guess I don't really have to explain how that turned out.

This year, 2006, I was only able to go on a Wednesday, usually a fairly calm day. Of course, I wasn't counting on the school trips to the place. I met [livejournal.com profile] xxxemo_girlxxx, bought only two books on Roman History, and saved the money to spend at Livraria Cultura afterwards. I had a great time, and my companion this time was my best gay friend, [livejournal.com profile] magnun.

I wonder if we'll ever date. *laughs*

Post scriptum: [livejournal.com profile] dehds, thanks for finding the songs.

Choose your friends.

Had a great day today. [livejournal.com profile] _mraz slept over after an absurdly un-chronological Lost marathon. Went to yoga class in the afternoon. Afterwards, [livejournal.com profile] defexxx and [livejournal.com profile] plasticiner came over before I left to French class to have sex borrow my television to watch the new Lost episode.

French was great except for two things:

1. I was late and missed the test I was supposed to take, meaning and now will have to do it at home.
2. I got the wrong bus on my way back and it took me forty-five minutes to get home. ¬¬

[livejournal.com profile] christycorr showed up as well to give me a foot massage the money she owned me (???) and hanged out with us until 23h, *Marvin the Robot mode on* when everybody else left anyway, so I don't know why I bother to say it *Marvin the Robot mode off*.

After an eletrical crisis on account of my stepfather and a lamp, here I am. Going to São Paulo tomorrow for the Bienal (a major book fair here in Brazil) and my father's play, therefore, the natives can just give me a ring if they feel like doing something.

Meme stolen from [livejournal.com profile] nitwitinperil (I couldn't possibly pick just three friends for each cathegory, so I decided to be political and just put each person once):

Arrivederci! *waves*

You like bowling, don't you, Montag?

If you don't want a man unhappy politically, don't give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. If the government is inefficient, topheavy, and tax-mad, better it be all those than that people worry over it. Peace, Montag. Give the people contests they win by remembering the words to more popular songs or the names of state capitals or how much corn Iowa grew last year. Cram them full of noncombustible data, chock them so damned full of 'facts' they feel stuffed, but absolutely 'brilliant' with information. Then they'll feel like they're thinking, they'll get a sense of motion without moving. And they'll be happy, because facts of that sort don't change. Don't give them any slippery stuff like philosophy or sociology to tie things up with. That way lies melancholy.
