Brasil 0 x 1 France

I am so embarrassed for us. I don't think I have seen Brazil play as bad as that since 98's final. After France scored I don't think I had time to get mad -- I just went straight to the "disappointed" stage. France deserved it. I don't know what the hell happened to us.

This is going to be a difficult karma to break.

God damn it. If it isn't obvious to you people after Italy x Australia that the FIFA bosses will do anything it takes to guarantee that an European country wins this World Cup, I don't know what it takes to convince you people.

Honestly, what the hell was that penalty about? I was so, so, so, so bloody mad.

Argentina, please kick Germany's ass. I'll be cheering for you people like never before. And I mean it.

Portugal 1 x 0 Netherlands

That was, possibly, the most unfair game so far.

Am I the only Brazilian who doesn't like to kiss Scolari's ass and hope Beckham kicks the shit out of Portugal and its bloody violent people?

*sighs*

Dear Argentina,

What you have showed the world today was pure, raw, excellent football. The goals you've scored, especially the second one, were brilliant -- definitely the best goals so far. I think I could say, after this great game, that I wouldn't mind if you actually won the World Cup, unless, of course, the final was against Brazil.

Congratulations. Keep up the good work. Celebrate. You deserve it.

From your worst enemy,

A Brazilian.

ETA: Clockwork Orange in the finals! *_*

...omg.

I'm a Law School student.

54 days are going to take such a long time to pass.

...not that they will take longer than the next couple of hours before Brazil's game.

I swear I will die today.

Go, Aussies!

OMFG!

Best game so far! Congratulations, Archee (told you to wait until the last minute)! *laughs*

It was bloody amazing. They've scored three times in seven minutes. We're so screwed.

Bloody Argentineans.

I was so, so, so nervous watching Ivory Coast x Argentina today. I freaked out when they scored, screamed, cursed and wanted to kill myself when the game ended. I just... I don't know... liked the Ivory Coast from the moment they walked into the field.

I don't think I'll be physically able to watch Brazil's matches.

*freaks*

Bread and circuses.

We may not have enough bread, but once in every four years all Brazilians fill their empty stomachs with the thrill of the World Cup.

It's impossible to begin to explain what happens aorund here in this particular time (even though [livejournal.com profile] christycorr managed to give you foreigners a good notion) -- I guess you'd have to follow [livejournal.com profile] firstlightofeos's example and come to Brazil to see for yourselves.

The first match of the championship is almost over. Brazil plays on Tuesday, and, finally, I am offically anxious.

Let the games begin.

You like bowling, don't you, Montag?

If you don't want a man unhappy politically, don't give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. If the government is inefficient, topheavy, and tax-mad, better it be all those than that people worry over it. Peace, Montag. Give the people contests they win by remembering the words to more popular songs or the names of state capitals or how much corn Iowa grew last year. Cram them full of noncombustible data, chock them so damned full of 'facts' they feel stuffed, but absolutely 'brilliant' with information. Then they'll feel like they're thinking, they'll get a sense of motion without moving. And they'll be happy, because facts of that sort don't change. Don't give them any slippery stuff like philosophy or sociology to tie things up with. That way lies melancholy.
