Hiatus

lu: (A little unwell.)
I think, I think I did something wrong on my Mac and it may have died.

Great. On the day before one of the busiest weeks I'll have this year and in which I'll need my computer very much.

My dad will try to fix it. If he can't, I may not show up properly for a while.

I wish you all a very fond farewell.

ETA: I took Eddie to the technicians and apparently the problem is in some little gadget that has to do with the Apple monitor. Therefore, I may use my father's or [livejournal.com profile] christycorr's Windows monitor while I order a new device from Apple (which shall take thirty days in the least). Will also have to take the monitor to be looked at. Meanwhile, I'll be using dad's Mac, which, unfortunately, does not have MSN, YM! or Skype. If you need to talk to me, only AIM, iChat or good old e-mail. *waves* I hope to be back soon.

You like bowling, don't you, Montag?

If you don't want a man unhappy politically, don't give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. If the government is inefficient, topheavy, and tax-mad, better it be all those than that people worry over it. Peace, Montag. Give the people contests they win by remembering the words to more popular songs or the names of state capitals or how much corn Iowa grew last year. Cram them full of noncombustible data, chock them so damned full of 'facts' they feel stuffed, but absolutely 'brilliant' with information. Then they'll feel like they're thinking, they'll get a sense of motion without moving. And they'll be happy, because facts of that sort don't change. Don't give them any slippery stuff like philosophy or sociology to tie things up with. That way lies melancholy.
