Posting directly from Rio in order to make one not quite brief observation:
Star Wars: Episode III, Revenge if the Sith (EUA, 2005) ***** - In the beginning I could've sworn it wouldn't be as good as my expectations. That is, until Yoda and Lord Sidius showed up. I'm officially in love with our dear Chancellor and Lord Sith, as well as with the little green Jedi.Though I'll always prefer the villain. Bad guys are complexer.
I'd say that one of my only personal critiques is thelack of talent of the loser great Hayden Christensen. Any useless droid would be able to say those lines (has he never heard of intonation?) and make a better facial expression of the future Darth Vader (a.k.a. my favourite character of the old trilogy, if not of the whole shebang) than that Frodo wannabe (do notice the similarity between the two of them after the duel with Kenobi), incompetent, ridiculous, mind-bogglingly numb piece of bad acting. All he could do was frown, try to pretend he was dark and mysterious, inexpressively say he loved Padmé, and utterly ruin the Skywalker/Vader translation (which was the worst thing he could've possibly done to me).
Apart from that, the movie has very little flaws (though Padmé giving birth to Luke and Leia was just sad). The sequence of the final duels taking place at the same time (Yoda/Sidius, Kenobi/Vader) was an eye-opener (and no mistake); execution of order 66 was brilliant(I heart Sidius); and R2D2rockedohssomuch.
Definitely the best film of the new trilogy. I'd say it can even be as good as the ones from the old trilogy, though they can't possibly be compared. George Lucas did a good job, and I must say that finally being able to understand the whole story is very gratifying and fulfilling indeed.Not. I want VII, VIII and IX! *pouts*
May thedark side of the Force be with all of you.
Post scriptum I: you know you are addicted to Romans when you hear Yoda saying that "the Chancellor staying too long on his position will make him a dictator" and all you can think about is Gaius Mariusand maybe Caesar.
Post scriptum II:
defexxx (who is by my side) would also like to add that Kenobi, in the sequence where he is attacked by Dooku and crashed under the structure of the ship, looks remarkably like a human-shaped pillow.

And Pompeius, and Sulla. You'll get there.
"The sequence of the final duels taking place at the same time (Yoda/Sidius, Kenobi/Vader) was an eye-opener (and no mistake); execution of order 66 was brilliant (I heart Sidius)" COOOM CERTEZA *__*
