Like [livejournal.com profile] defexxx said, Nature impresses me everyday. It is amazing how when She feels like it She can interfere with anybody's fate and with one simple thunderstorm scare us (and this time not just me) and show us who really is in charge of the world. The pretension of humans is so huge that we do need a little rain once in a while to remind us that we are mere ants when it comes to Mother Nature.

Sorry if all of that sounded too Pagan-ish. I'm not Wiccan or anything, but I do believe in the spiritual and physical power of the Earth (even though it is just a big computer made by mice) and whichever other spiritual forces abide it (just pick your God[s] and Goddess[es] and I'll stay quiet in my big religious confusion).

119km of traffic jam; the Tiête with 50% more water than the usual; the most intense thunderstorm since 1943; the two main roads closed; city in state of emergency; 6 people got killed; nobody comes in and nobody gets out.

That means no people from Rio here this holiday (unless for some miracle [livejournal.com profile] defexxx menages to come), and maybe one more week with my dog here (I may get used to this and it won't be pretty).

Didn't see Kill today because of the bloody rain, so just went to the movies by myself and now am waiting for [livejournal.com profile] magnun and [livejournal.com profile] pichitinha get here so we can chat a little about boys world peace.

Well, c'est la vie. *sighs*

Oldboy (South Korea, 2003) ***** - Damn, that was a good movie. Reminded me so much of Kill Bill but at the same time it had nothing to do with it. The plot was wonderful. Long time since I didn't surprise myself that much. Don't you just love when a movie trespass your expectances? So dragging Kill to see it again with her.

Post scriptum: I can't stand those bloody ignorant boys from my school anymore I wonder if they still exist in Law School. And I was even more annoyed because my Lit teacher didn't show up (I'm murdering St. Peter) and I lost 2h20 of my favourite class. ¬¬

Post scriptum: I was passing by a woman in the street today and I heard she saying something like "oh, yes, Marcelo Tas' assistant" (?!). Randomly hearing your father's name from a total stranger is the weirdest thing in the world. So creepy.

eu tenho uma ÓTIMA explicação pra essa chuva

You like bowling, don't you, Montag?

If you don't want a man unhappy politically, don't give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. If the government is inefficient, topheavy, and tax-mad, better it be all those than that people worry over it. Peace, Montag. Give the people contests they win by remembering the words to more popular songs or the names of state capitals or how much corn Iowa grew last year. Cram them full of noncombustible data, chock them so damned full of 'facts' they feel stuffed, but absolutely 'brilliant' with information. Then they'll feel like they're thinking, they'll get a sense of motion without moving. And they'll be happy, because facts of that sort don't change. Don't give them any slippery stuff like philosophy or sociology to tie things up with. That way lies melancholy.
