I think I can securely say, now that the second trimester is over, that I have learned much. A lot of useless things, yes. But a lot of absolutely astonishing things as well. I still can't wait to go to college, but I'm trying to do my best in high school anyway.
Best thing of the term was definitely the classes I've lectured today to the first year's on Roman Economy. It made me
In general, the term could've been better, much better. But, for now, I am pleased with most of my results, which lifts a heavy weight off my back.
Swordfish (USA, 2001) *** and a half - I must say that the opening monologue absolutely captivated me
"You know what the problem with Hollywood is? They make shit. Unbelievable, unremarkable shit. Now I'm not some grungy wannabe filmmaker that's searching for existentialism through a haze of bong smoke or something. No, it's easy to pick apart bad acting, short-sighted directing, and a purely moronic stringing together of words that many of the studios term as "prose". No, I'm talking about the lack of realism. Realism; not a pervasive element in today's modern American cinematic vision." - Gabriel, Swordfish.
Need a film OD urgently. *sighs* This weekend will be promising.
