So I had the most vain, futile day I could possibly have. After four Gossip Girl episodes I had this sudden urge to go shopping. Six hours later I came home with a bunch of bags.

Whoever said money didn't buy happiness must have been having a really bad hair day.

[WARNING. This is a fashion-related rant.]

What is it with vests being 'in' this winter? I mean, I have seen a thousand girls in college wearing them. It's so weird to see accessories usually related to gay/bi/indie/alternative girls mixed with Valley-girlish Calvin Klein social pants. Today at the mall there were vests in the most random, traditional stores, and not on a male mannequin.

Don't get me wrong, you people know I'm all against a segregation between gay and straight people (or between gay people themselves), but I guess the cultural shock was just weird for me. I once read an article at a The L Word-related book that, amongst other things, said that lesbians were responsible for starting several fashion trends. I guess they had a point.

I am wearing a vest right now, by the way. It's probably the perfect way to end this day anyway.

And now off to drink dance the night away.

I don't know if it's a gay trend or not, but since I was a little girl I always thought that vests and suspenders (or braces, if you're british) are the most sexy thing EVER! Oh, and as you know, I'm straight.
Come on, there's nothing sexier (for straight men and gay women) than a woman wearing a man outfit that clings to her in all the right places. Am I right?

vests, aka, coletes?

enfim...

enfim...

The thing is the seventy's is back this winter. Everything that was fashion during the 70's is fashion now, including huge eyebrows (which is good for me o_o) and curly hair. Straight hair is out. I don't know if this is something you can say was brought up from gay community or not, but that's what's cool this season. xD

You like bowling, don't you, Montag?

If you don't want a man unhappy politically, don't give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. If the government is inefficient, topheavy, and tax-mad, better it be all those than that people worry over it. Peace, Montag. Give the people contests they win by remembering the words to more popular songs or the names of state capitals or how much corn Iowa grew last year. Cram them full of noncombustible data, chock them so damned full of 'facts' they feel stuffed, but absolutely 'brilliant' with information. Then they'll feel like they're thinking, they'll get a sense of motion without moving. And they'll be happy, because facts of that sort don't change. Don't give them any slippery stuff like philosophy or sociology to tie things up with. That way lies melancholy.
