American Beauty (USA, 1999) ***** - Such a good film. Five starts for some great quotes, and to the fact that it could've been the most clichéd let's-win-the-Oscar film ever, and resisted the temptation (even though it is still a very potential-Academy-favourite movie). Great critique to America's "role model" society of perfect families and white fences. It'd been a while since I'd seen it.

_annabel_lee and christycorr.The Island (USA, 2005) ** - I thought a lot about giving the film a three. But, honestly, a film that has the potential to be excellent and falls in total cliché is, for me, an utter disappointment. There were some good lines, yes, and the plot, like I said, has great potential.
